Tracy and Will Earhart wanted a different kind of care for the birth of their third baby so they chose the nurse midwives at Family Nurse Midwives Associates at JDMH. After a traumatic cesarean delivery of their first baby and a normal, but medically managed vaginal birth of their second baby, Tracy says, "I was looking for a better way, the way it should be." She heard about the midwives through a friend who delivered her 6th and 7th babies with them. The midwives "helped me experience my pregnancy with wonder, not fear". She credits her short labor to feeling relaxed and safe with the midwives. When the midwife came into the room the atmosphere changed to one of peace. Looking back, Tracy comments, The choices I made previously robbed me of something, I felt inept. This birth has met and exceeded her expectations. My experiences went beyond joyful to healing, completeness, and spiritual fulfillment. I can not wait to tell my daughter about when she was born.
