Midwives are not only for women in the childbearing years. 

About six years ago I was approaching menopause and was having some minor problems.  I did not have an OB/GYN.  A friend said she used the midwives and really liked them.  I knew about the midwives because my first grandchild was delivered by Nancy Ritenour, CNM.  At the time my grandchild was delivered, I thought  it was so great that the midwife came in at 9AM and never left until about 10:30PM when my granddaughter was born.  Nancy kept us well informed of my daughters progress.  Later on, I called Sue and she gave me an appointment, I was always apprehensive about exams and never did yearly.  The midwives made me feel comfortable.  You do not feel like you are being rushed in and out of the office.  They are willing to talk about options and let you make the choice.  I am really glad the midwives are here and I do my yearly now.  I have three grandchildren and they all were delivered by midwives.
